Who I Am
I came to U.S. First to attend school in Salem, West Virginia in 1992, and earned a degree in Communication studies in 1994. Then, I attended University of North Carolina at Greensboro and earned a degree in Exercise and Sports Science in1998. I have been working as a personal trainer since 1998.
My credentials as a personal trainer includes certfications from Aerobic Fitness Association of America (A.F.A.A.), International Association of Resistance Trainers (I.A.R.T.), and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.). In 2002 AND 2003, I received “The Fitness Professional of the Year” awards from I.A.R.T. (Runner-up in 2001) and published a case study of a client in the I.A.R.T. annual fitness magazine. I am a nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from National Strength and Conditioning Association (N.S.C.A.) and hold Advanced Fitness Boxing Certification from the Boxing Fitness Institute (B.F.I.).
I also gained experiences in rehabilitation. In 2005 and 2006, I assisted physical therapists in Moses Cone Hospitals, Greensboro, N.C. in both In/Out-patient facilities for two years, mostly working with patients with post-stroke and post- knee and hip replacement surgeries. In 2007, I volunteeded at Murphy-Wainer Physical Therapy Clinic, also in Greensboro, N.C., assisting their patients with shoulder/knee issues.
Physical activities are the biggest part of of my life style. I played organized basketball from grammer school in Japan to college in N.A.I.A. school in West Virginia. In addition to resistant training and cardio training throughout college, I started boxing after my second college and, now certified and teach Fitness Boxing for general fitness. Boxing is a fun way to exercise your body and mind and improve self-defense technique.
I have pursued even more advanced materials from Health Coach Institutue in 2017. Their educational program and experiences gave me abilities to work with clients individually with various needs, in groups with similar goals, and to deliver workshops to educate people. By applying Total Body Transformation program, I have learned to provide better systems to provide support and accountability for people in need. I am ready to create positive habits for you and transform you to live a healthy and rejuvenated life.
